Put on, wear, be in, dress及dress up五者都有“穿”的意思。用法区别如下：

1. put on意思是“穿上；戴上”，宾语为衣物，表示从没穿/戴到穿/戴好的过程，或表示正在穿/戴的动作, 宾语是人称代词时,人称代词必须放在put和 on之间；此外，它还可以表示增加（体重），变胖；

如：

Put it on. Its cold outside.

He has put on a lot of weight since he gave up running. 自从他放弃跑步后，他的体重增加了许多。

2. wear意思是“穿/戴着”，宾语也是衣物，表示已经穿/戴好在身上的状态；

如：

Lily wears a pair of sunglasses.

As a teacher, I really feel worried to see so many students wearing glasses.作为一名老师,看到如此多的学生戴 眼镜我真的感到担心。

3. be in意思也是“穿/戴着”，宾语通常是表示颜色的名词，表示身上穿/戴着某种颜色的衣物的状态，有时可与 wear互换。

如:

He is in a black jacket today.= He wears a black jacket today.他今天穿件黑色夹克。

4. dress意思是“穿衣服”，其后只能跟表示人的名词或代词作宾语，不能跟衣服、鞋帽等，表示给某人穿衣服；dress还可以做名词，n.衣服，连衣裙；

如：

Do you think the dress looks good on me? 你觉得我穿这件裙子好看吗？

a）dress sb（in sth） vt. 给…穿…衣服;用…打扮某人;

如:

She dressed the boy before breakfast.早饭之前她给这个男孩穿好了衣服。

b）be dressed in 穿着;

He is dressed in a white shirt.他穿着一件白衬衫。

5. dress up意思是“穿上盛装；乔装打扮”，表动作，常与介词搭配，in+颜色+服饰（穿着）。

如：

The girl dresses up on Childrens Day. 这个女孩儿在儿童节打扮了一番。

I want to dress up as a ghost for the Halloween party because I think it will be really exciting.（我想在万圣节派对上扮成鬼，因为我觉得这会非常刺激。）
